This month we tried a new development philosophy.  Whereas before we tried to deliver small, highly polished sections of the game, this month we tried blocking out a large section of the game with the intention to go back and add more detail later. Here’s some of what we accomplished in October.

When we last saw our heroes, they were in the deserts of the Ittihad on the other side of this portal.  This month we step through the portal into the realms beyond.

Pyramid Gate leads us back into the dangerous Shadowlands.

Our next destination is South Point Crossing.

Through South Point Crossing, we arrive in a completely new environment.  Who knows what adventures could be waiting out there in the snow?

From the spires of the Icy Reach, you will launch your ultimate assault on the Scholars of Candle and Sword.

And that is where we head into the endgame of Himeko Sutori.  Next month we will rough-in the final areas of the game.  Like we said earlier, we’re just adding new areas as fast as possible and we’ll go back and add detail later.  Once we have the necessary areas, we’ll add in the NPCs, battlegrounds, shops, and dialog and cutscenes to move the plot along.

Just for fun, here’s some of the higher-tier equipment we’ve been working on. We have finished the first few tiers of all of the weapons in the game and now we’re getting started on the more powerful gear.  It’s fun getting into new, more fantastical designs, instead of the plainer, more realistic lower-tier stuff we had been working on before.

That’s about everything for now.  Development is still moving along.  It has taken a lot more time and effort than we thought it would, but we think we can see the light at the end of the tunnel from here.
